ABC Carpet & Home was one of the most iconic retailers in the home space, a must see for anyone in the business who wanted to keep up with cutting edge home furnishings. Consumers flocked to it as well, turning it almost a day-date location for several generations. Then a series of unforeseen circumstances turned it upside down and eventually drove it into bankruptcy. It has new owners now who want to build it back up. Make no mistake: it won’t be the the ABC so many people loved. But I do believe they’ve made a good start in creating a modern retail business.
