New Pot City?

When marijuana was legalized in the State of New York, pot enthusiasts and the state treasury alike thought this was a good thing. It’s turned out — at least so far — to not be much of a thing at all, as the number of legal recreational weed stores is tiny compared to the overall population — not to mention to many other states that have been much better at allowing for legal retail stores.

In the meantime it’s created a shadow network of stores that are legally selling CBD and smoking accessories but also seem to be offering marijuana…although whether it actually is remains a big puff of smoke. New York City has five — count ’em five — legal pot stores while a small town in Massachusetts has 14 just by itself.

All in all, it’s a bad high for smokers, retailers and the tax collectors who thought this was going to be a new found source of revenue for the state. More on all of this in my new Robin Report take: https://www.therobinreport.com/new-york-not-exactly-going-to-pot/
