January Shows Get Off to Strong Start: Surprise

It wasn’t entirely expected but the first two shows of the 2026 home and gift sector, in Dallas and Atlanta, got off to positive starts, reflecting the fact that Holiday 2025 was also better than expected and retailers are light on inventory. Sure, prices are up, the consumer is still a little sketchy and prospects for the rest of the new year could change at the drop of a social media post but for now the industry will take the good news. Here’s my report from the front lines.
