If you just looked at the financial results the retailer posted this week, they were pretty dismal, missing analyst forecasts and predicting a rotten next quarter. But if you could see past this, there was a pretty dazzling future in the works, with an entirely new brand and all kinds of new store formats and configurations. It was a tale of two futures — short and long-term — to be sure.
