Why does the business journalism community still write articles about how Fast Eddie Lampert is trying to save Sears and how his latest Hail Mary is going to do the trick? The fix has been in almost since the very beginning that Lampert’s plan was to suck as much cash out of this place as possible, keeping the patient on life-support for however long it took to accomplish that.

There was never a retail strategy. It was always an Eddie strategy.
