
Well, first of all, thanks for paying attention to the above and NOT just reading the headline. Turns out that headlines can be very misleading in some cases. Take the ones about store closings. They are clearly accurate in reporting that thousands of retail locations in the U.S. are closing this year. But they don’t tell the entire story.
A new research report puts store closings in context and it turns out that lots of retailing companies are opening lots of retail stores but that most of the closings are coming from a much smaller group of very troubled operations, often ones going out of business.
