Say this about new Bed Bath & Beyond CEO Mark Tritton: he is not bashful about making his impact at his new job. Today he announced a major restructuring that eliminated about 500 jobs at the big home furnishings retailer, including 350 at its corporate HQ. It’s a pretty bold move and it comes on top of a series of moves he’s made in structure, finance and brands. Some are long overdue, all are dramatic and the question will be which ones are Smart…and which ones aren’t.
