
Controversial during his tragically life-cut-short by a rare disease, Virgil Abloh continues to be commercial too after his death with a wide variety of products and concepts emerging. Most interesting in the home space is a new flatware set he did for Alessi, an industrial design that retails for the rather outrageous price of $650 for one place setting. But much of Abloh’s work was outrageous following his belief that even altering an existing product or design by 3% made it something entirely new. It appears both the controversy and the commercial success of Virgil Abloh will live on…much like the artist he has been most compared to, Andy Warhol.
