
Yes, the home furnishings business is going though a bit of an ugly slog right now as all of us start spending our money on pursuits outside our homes. But don’t get fooled. There’s still plenty of positive momentum in the broader home sector and the proof is in the fact that some very big national retailers, including HomeGoods, At Home and Floor & Decor, are all planning on opening new stores — in some cases lots of new stores — over the next few years.
Some of this is market share shifts but the rest is the belief that consumers still plan on investing in the places where they live.
