If you’ve been paying attention to RH recently you know they have opened their first hotel — ok, they call it a Guesthouse — and while it’s pretty small at only nine rooms it’s pretty big in what it represents for the home furnishings retailer’s quest to be more than just a…well, home furnishings retailer. I got an exclusive tour of the new property (pictured above are workers putting the final touches on the place a few weeks before it opened in September) and it’s everything you would expect from RH impresario Gary Friedman. Here’s my insider’s review of the place but also what it means for the company’s climb up “the luxury mountain.”
