It was one wacky year for the home furnishings retailing sector which saw insatiable demand and thin inventories turn into drastically cut sales and an oversupply of just about everything. Some retailers — Williams Sonoma, RH, TJX — handled it better than others — Bed Bath & Beyond, Wayfair. Still, it was difficult for just about everybody in the business to deal with the whiplash conditions.
