Wendy’s Big Fast Food F__K-Up

Sometimes really smart companies do really stupid things and we saw it again just a few weeks ago when fast fooder Wendy’s danced around the concept of surge pricing that possibly would have had it raising prices during its busy peak times. Of course Wendy’s management said absolutely not. we would never do anything of the sort and, hey, do you want fries with that? But the damage was done and not only did Wendy’s mess up but then the way it handled the fall-out was a textbook example of how not to handle meltdowns like this. You would think after watching countless cases of similar stupid business — anyone here remember New Coke or Ron Johnson’s JCPenney debacle? — they would know better.
