It was a tale of two trade shows this week as two of the biggest segments of the home furnishings business got together to engage in some buying and selling. But while the housewares business held a traditional show in an organized manner with an easy-to-work format, workshops and keynote speakers, the textiles business did a disorganized, scattered event with no central focus and nothing in the way of a community. The contrast could not have been more stark.
