I guess if you’re going to go for full transparency these days, new Beyond Inc. (that’s the former Overstock and now the owner of the Bed Bath & Beyond business) Marcus Lemonis is about as transparent as it gets. In a speech to the housewares industry last month he called the previous management of the company “idiots” and said he had run them out of town. Maybe they were…and maybe they weren’t. Still, perhaps there was a kinder and gentler way to put this, one that didn’t spook current employees left over from that former administration who might be wondering if they are the next idiots to go. There’s a way to handle situations like this…and this ain’t it.
