Ok, see if you get this. You’re in the retail business, in fact you run one of the most successful group of retailers in the country, doing $40 billion a year. But all your business is in your stores and you are pretty much missing-in-action online, the fastest growing part of retail estimated to account for as much as 25% of total sales in the country before not too long. So what do you say? “Nah, e-commerce is not really that important to us, we’re going to focus on our physical stores.”

If you’re mumbling under your breath about this Stupid statement, you’ll be even more surprised to learn where it came from: TJX, parent company to TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods and a few other stalwarts of e-commerce.

I don’t get it.
