Don’t get me wrong: Walmart is one of the best retailers in the business today and the progress they’ve made in online, treating their workers better and just generally being on the right side of a whole lot of social issues is extraordinary. Especially considering the company’s roots and prior behavior. But that doesn’t mean it’s getting everything right. In three areas, specifically, it still has work to do: international, in-store merchandising and being more than a very distant second in e-commerce. The company has been really smart about a lot of things, but here and there, it’s strategies and actions have been borderline Stupid.
