Deadlines seem to come and go on who will take ownership of JCPenney, the legendary department store now in chapter 11 and fighting for its life. I found a certain irony in the fact that the retailer is running a Mystery Sale this week when in fact the bigger mystery is who will take control of the store. Of even more concern is when: The Christmas clock is ticking and it’s a Stupid position for Penney to be in during the most important part of the shopping year.
