It’s time for another new CEO at JCPenney, the fourth in six years, with the news that the retailer’s new owners have asked current president Jill Soltau to leave the premises. Lots of speculation on who will get the job…but even more on who will actually want to get it. It’s a tough assignment with lots of investors looking over your shoulder and a very slim chance of succeeding given the marketplace, Covid and the tenuous position the retailer currently sits in. You don’t have to be Stupid to take the job…just very brave.
