The American Dream mall may be the future of big shopping centers…but it could also be the past. I visited the place last month, my second tour, and there’s lots more going on than when it first opened but for every store that’s now opened, there appear to be at least two or three empty storefronts that aren’t. You want this place to succeed but it’s increasingly difficult to see how it will. I’d say the Smart money is still betting against it…but sometimes smart people make Stupid decisions.
