
Yes, it’s a thing and while it started out in fashion apparel, it’s now moved into the furniture and home furnishings sector where “used” furniture had been a dirty word. Now, companies like Kaiyo are changing both the business model and consumer perceptions about buying second-hand furniture. I’m not entirely convinced this will outlast the pandemic-induced shortages but I have to admit it’s a compelling argument to reuse all of this stuff rather than dump it into a landfill.
