
It’s barely spring but for retailers who count on the back-to-college-dorm market in late summer and early fall, it’s already well into the season. And with Bed Bath & Beyond in turmoil, its big market share in this business is most certainly in play. Other retailers have to be looking at ramping up their programs, maybe not for ’23 but certainly for ’24. It’s a big business — $10.5 billion according to one estimate — so you can bet your bookbag that this is a sector very much about to be in upheaval.
